PaxWorks in collaboration with Nepal Teacher Training Innovations, Her Turn and PHASE-Nepal will be conducting research on youth suicides. Suicides are the leading cause of death of women in reproductive age in Nepal and this crisis is not well researched or understood. We will be talking with students and teachers to explore the perceptions of suicides and ideas for feasible stress management techniques that could help to reduce the number of suicides. The research will produce a report and two curricula – for teachers and for trainers of girls’ empowerment workshops – which will then be piloted in rural schools.
