Her Turn – the program we support – has recently finished workshops with over 150 girls from three schools in Siundhupalchok district. The completion ceremonies were conducted at the end of August. We were thrilled to see the girls perform stage plays written by themselves related to child marriage, domestic violence, human trafficking and how to avoid these risks in daily life. Girls also presented songs and speeches about health and safety. The parents, families, teachers, and communities were amazed by girls’ confidence and public speaking skills. Each school met its Girls’ Support Committee formed during the workshop. Its members will provide support for students and address girls’ issues in their schools. We also saw speeches from community members, women’s groups, local education officials, principals, and our trainers.
